Game 1: #23 West Virginia at #10 Wisconsin

Game 1:  #23 West Virginia at #10 Wisconsin

December 17, 2011
Kickoff: 11:00 am
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Weather: 32 degrees, Light Flurries, 3 mph wind

EA Sports Ratings:        Wisconsin, Overall: A, Offense: A, Defense: B+
West Virginia, Overall: B+, Offense: B+, Defense: B

The highflying Dana Holgorson offense vs the ground and pound Bret Bielema machine.  This is the type of matchup playoffs would be great for in setting up; a complete contrast of styles.  The cold weather and snow flurries in Madison might make the going a little tougher for Holgorson’s offense, but let’s cut to the chase.

1st Quarter:
-Tavon Austin takes the first punt return of the game 81 yards for a Touchdown            (7-0 West Virginia)

-Wisconsin responds with a long drive leading to a 4 yard TD run by Montee Ball                (7-7 Tied)

-Wisconsin recovers a Mountaineer fumble and takes the next drive down
the field where Russell Wilson completes a 7 yard TD pass to Jeff Duckworth                  (14-7 Wisconsin)

-West Virginia scores next when Geno Smith hits Brad Starks for a 16 yard TD pass        (14-14 Tied)

2nd Quarter:
-Wisconsin mounts a scoring drive that culminates with a Montee Ball 9 yard TD run       (21-14 Wisconsin)

-West Virginia comes right back down the field and scores with a 2 yard TD run
              from Ryan Clark                                                                                                                       (21-21 Tied)

-Wisconsin scores the final points of the 1st half with a 41 yard FG from Philip Welch.    (24-21 Wisconsin)

3rd Quarter:
-West Virginia takes the opening drive down the field and scores with a 4 yard TD
run from Shawne Alston                                                                                                   (28-24 West Virginia)

-Wisconsin responds with a scoring drive ending with a Montee Ball 2 yard TD run        (31-28 Wisconsin)

-After trading possessions, West Virginia drives into Badger territory and scores with a
Tyler Bitancurt 33 yard FG                                                                                                    (31-31 Tied)

4th Quarter:
-Wisconsin takes the 4th qtr opening drive and turns it into points with a
4 yard TD pass from Russell Wilson to Nick Toon,  but the XP sails wide right.                 (37-31 Wisconsin)

-West Virginia capitalizes on the missed XP with a drive resulting in a Shawne Austin
3 yard TD run                                                                                                                      (38-37 West Virginia)

-With under a minute left in the game, Russell Wilson leads the Badgers down the

  15. It seems to me that, the majority of people who involve themselves in Political discussions have no clue about what is going on in the world. They spend more time watching sports and cartoons than they do studying politics... it doesn't make sense to me at all.
